The Inflation Reduction Act expanded the credits available for residential energy credits. You may now receive up to $1,200 per year thru 2032.
In order to receive the credit(s), it will be up to YOU to determine if you qualify.
If you replaced your furnace, air conditioner, hot water heater, windows, doors or insulation, please do the research before your appointment as we cannot do it for you.
Here are some of the criteria and helpful links:
- Central air conditioners: 17 SEER2
- Electric heat pumps: 18 SEER2 and 10 HSPF2
- Gas furnaces: 97% AFUE
Exterior doors must be ENERGY STAR certified to qualify for this tax credit.
Exterior windows or skylights must meet the ENERGY STAR Most Efficient criteria.
Typical bulk insulation products can qualify, such as batts, rolls, blow-in fibers, rigid boards, expanding spray, and pour-in-place.
Products that air seal (reduce air leaks) can also qualify, as long as they come with a Manufacturers Certification Statement, including:
- Weather stripping
- Spray foam in a can, designed to air seal
- Caulk designed to air seal
- House wrap
